About Kathryn Hunter

Kathryn’s career is marked by her versatility and physicality. She has been described as a "virtuoso physical performer". She received the Laurence Olivier Award for her role in Friedrich Dürrenmatt's THE VISIT. Notably, she was the first British woman to portray King Lear professionally, challenging traditional gender roles in theatre. In film and television, she portrayed Arabella Figg in HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX and delivered a critically acclaimed performance as the Three Witches in Joel Coen's THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH, earning the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Supporting Actress. More recently, she appeared as Lenny Lines in the Netflix series BLACK DOVES and took on the role of Swiney in Yorgos Lanthimos's POOR THINGS.
